When block picking a tree with builder it saves the tree height and when placed it will have the same height as the one I picked from. If you need full height you get it from the inventory. Same could work with bushes and leaves.

Whoa @ritpop, that sounds like a nice feature! I think it should limit height only right after block picking, so when you switch to a different item it resets. Then you can use Q-Q (or the controller/touchscreen button) to quickly revert back to full height without having to open the inventory. Input from other builders on this would be appreciated.

Firefly idea sounds like one of the best ways to implement the tree height saver. Something I would totally use. 🤓 Only other way to do it would be adding some sort of custom tree height chooser, when placing the tree. But… this sounds like a bit to much to ask for.

@Loki The Witful: You mean like the tailored panel, so you'd place a tree and it pops up two buttons for 'shorter' and 'taller' along with 'OK'? It could remember the previous height, set it when block picking, have a button for 'max' and 'min'. The only downside is that it makes spamming trees and bushes more difficult.

i think doing the buttons is a total waste of time, both for firefly, and the player having yet another ui they wont use 95% of the time and will just click OK and nothing else. kinda like photon blocks, im pretty sure if loki could disable the photon block ui, he would have it disabled 99% of the time he placed a photon block ritpops idea is perfect, block pick a tree, keep placing trees of same height until you switch out to another block

So took a bit longer for me to get back to this topic than I wanted, but I finally got my idea sorted out enough to even suggest. My goal was to think of some sort of UI that could allow one to edit the tree height and still allow the user to walk around, and place trees without having to click okay every time... not as easy as it sounds. Trying to find a method that could work for both mobile and computer was a challenge. Initially I thought of making some sort of toggle-able UI window, but this got over complicated very fast. Demo of my over complicated UI set up: https://imgur.com/a/k467L73 Realizing this was way to much, and a bit complicated I started trying to make it simpler, than the idea hit me, why not use one of the old UI things? Using the old photon mimic UI side panel, plus a bit of my creative thinking, I think I got it! Simpler version: https://imgur.com/a/yxujEnG The idea could use some refining but this is my shot at it, we can always just forget this idea or use the block picker. I do admit I am a bit concerned that some might not realize the tree is a different height using the bock picker method without some sort of UI indicating the tree height, hence why I suggested the UI stuff. Feel free to comment or suggest something totally different. 🙃
