I just joined the game (about 5 minutes ago), and I logged out to go look for instructions on controls and functions. When I came back, I entered my login information. I watched the game shorten my password, and then it told me that I have entered invalid login information. I restarted the game multiple times, and this continues to occur. Any thoughts?

You are entering the wrong password. Try if it works on the website and if it doesn't, reset it using the account tools. The number of masking characters in the game changes after password entry because of security reasons; the game instantly forgets your password and doesn't even know its length after you enter it. This way nobody can get your password from your computer.
