It seems that when I open the map by pressing "m" and then I close by Esc, it will change my selected block type to something else. Actually it is rock but was also snow before... This is feature or bug? :)

No matter what slot you use it goes to slot 2 after you press esc... coincidentally slot 2 is also the deafult slot for the telecharger... you open the map trough the telecharger, so the game is opening the telecharger when you press M, thats why it goes there. But, the problem is when you dont have the telecharger in the hotbar, it still goes to slot 2 no matter what is in there.
