Hello angeldust folks. First of all, thank you all for the incredibly warm welcome, i've met several of you in-game already and everyone has been so kind and helpful - it's honestly wholesome. I am one of the new players who arrived via Rye Games' video. What really interested me was the building and the Anarchy Zone. I've played a ton of games in my time (far too many), I really enjoy participating in communities, roleplaying and building, as well as the anthropological aspect of virtual worlds. I have indeed been cleaning up the AZ - i've been falling in love with the place in the process. I am sure I will get back to my claim at some point, but I am finding a ton of satisfaction wrestling order out of the chaos of the AZ. Where most people might land and see a mess, I saw limitless opportunity and potential. I have created a bastion of creation within the AZ - The Department of Public Works. Inspired by the legendary DoP from minecrafts 2B2T server, the Department specializes in the maintenance of the chaos. Duties include fixing the inevitable destruction around spawn, landscaping, and highway maintenance. All willing volunteers are encouraged to participate. The current project is reaching out the main highways from spawn point into the wilderness. These routes are named AZ-1 North/South and AZ-2 East/West. Simply find the end of the line and continue the route in the current direction. Fun, right? sarcasm Anyway, this is how I nerd out, i've done similar operations everywhere from SecondLife to 7 Days to Die, and now I can add angeldust to the list. Thank you, everyone! At the Department of Public Works, we cherish the impermanence. To build in the Anarchy Zone is an exercise in zen nature. Finding the beauty in risk and the order within the chaos. Extra-large shoutouts to Adede, Daxi, Aguares, Owletwolt, Blizzysmalls, GM's Loki and SodaMeow for all the knowledge and assistance with the Anarchy-Zone project. I am sure I missed some people who helped out and I'm sorry for that. The area 2x claim distance around spawn has been ~65% repaired. Existing builds have been either repaired or removed to make way for more projects or connecting highways. We are hard at work creating an infrastructure that makes sense regarding both the above-ground highways and the underground subway system. Volunteers have made great progress on the southern (striped) road, the northern highway and underground subway network. Currently the Western Subway is the only corridor with conveyor belts for automated travel, we are encouraging volunteers to install conveyor belts on the other directional subway paths. In addition to typical custodial efforts, we are inviting builders to participate in the construction of Sandrock City along route AZ-1 North. The streets have been laid-out, just bring your building tools and your imagination to help us fill this area.
