I love how well produced your sample video is, and I think it's a great idea. It adds tons of flavor to the player profiles. I'd also want to subtly show the tag lines on the forums and private messages. Might require a redesign, like moving all personal information into a left column like on other forums. This then merges nicely with a long-standing idea I have to make players choose a hero to represent them, and showing that hero's portrait with their posts. I would turn players from 'a house' into 'a hero'. The combination might work best: house in the background, with the hero overlaid on top.
