this is what we have discussed about the build together stuff, feel free to add or discuss the topic here. ``` 600x600 claims (30min sprint from center to edge), add a wall around it to allow future expansion (or go full village wall to village wall) central lobby (1x1 claim): when you press a button in the telecharger (friend, actual button, whatever) you go there - players cannot be hurt in the lobby - lobby has holo chargers going to different quadrants that have 1x1 claim mini lobbies ?- a ring of claims around the lobby may regenerate back to normal land players cannot claim player can kill eachother no creatures spawn imitated creatures are instantly aggressive imitated creatures cannot break blocks players may destroy eachother's creations without moderators stepping in bulldozer is disabled GMs may use bulldozer to destroy buildings they find innappropriate (bulldozer converts the claim back to natural terrain) ```

It sounds like this is well thought out; I only have a few suggestions: 1. GM should do more damage and have more health so they can moderate if needed. 😏 2. Limited players shouldn’t be able to attack or build in "Build Together." This is necessary if a player is truly building something inappropriate and does not stop when told to. 3. To ensure there isn’t one central build spot, maybe create more than one lobby, so clicking the "Build Together" button will take you to a random lobby. You can still have teleports between the lobbies. 4. I liked one of Firefly's ideas about using the holo painter to set teams for "Build Together." This way, anyone on your team won’t be hurt by you, and anyone who doesn’t set a team color will be neutral. I would like to see that implemented. These are a few random thoughts that come to mind, but I think this maybe could work. Thanks for starting this discussion, Fatih+

#2: 1. you know yourself this is a bad idea, proven by the emoji 2. sure 3. a central lobby is a good thing, not a bad thing 4. already rejected by firefly himself, as you could just take the same team as the players you want to annoy and they cant kill you ---- should dragons/mounts be disabled in build together? since flying means youre invincible to pvp weapons i think this is a valid trade off, i'd rather not fly and build with scafolding than have people be able to fly and i not be able to hurt them it is true that players cannot attack while flying, but i think the fact someone could just fly up and drop down on top of you is quite problematic, also very much pay to win --- firefly mentioned a build and pvp mode for the hotbars, i hate that idea, it sounds very restrictive if pvp weapons just replaced all normal weapons when in build together, that would basically solve all problems pvp weapons must also be able to hurt imitated creatures

You all are all missing a key thing that FF said was a requirement... easy to implement, so he can do it fast and get player feedback, than tweak as required or even scrap the whole idea. 1) A confined area on the map (50x50 sounds small, 600x600 sounds too big) ... 99x99 sounds about right 2) TP in (conscious decision to play in this mode) to 1 claim "lobby" a) to prevent any required client mods, FF adds a TP scroll from his house b) only 3 ways out of lobby: return to normal game, log out, choose a team 3) forced to choose a "team" (R G B) which TPs you to the team "base" (separated by some distance) and colors you 4) full hero capabilities 5) open build/destroy except in the lobby 6) initial world as would normally render 7) no friendly fire, creatures spawn except at base(s) 8) R vs G vs B 9) monthly wipe (all builds) and LB. a) stats are initially only per team 10) future: team chat https://imgur.com/a/btt-pvp-concept-6paW73a 11) future mode: team "solo" a) random start (from lobby) b) can damage any/all c) can take damage from any/all [edit] 12) no claims, no saves

Is anyone (still) interested in this idea? A few days ago I realized that 'Build together' would be the wrong name for this game mode if we're allowing and encouraging PvP. Getting shot and "dying" is pretty much the gameplay inverse of building together :-) So maybe I should call this game mode 'Get shot and die'. If PvP is core to the gameplay then "dying" will be an integral part of the experience. I'm wondering how to deal with that. Imagine we eventually get to a place where there is an orchestrated battle between two groups of like two or three players each. Best case they both prepared a "base" opposite each other. Then what happens? Someone gets shot, they just lie there for half a minute and revive, like in the regular game? I'd rather avoid adding the obvious solution of beds and spawn points, but would the game mode then still be fun? Like, you'd never be able to advance towards the other group's castle as their attackers will always linger around your defensive perimeter. I'm all for players making their own rules, but codifying parts in the gameplay would be helpful I feel.

I feel like we already talk most of the stuff out so i dont have anymore ideas 😭, and for the pvp my idea is what if the sorceress can revive players? like it can reduce the waiting time. it would add a new way of defending your teammates

chatting w/ @Sodameow .. take my idea in #4 ... but each month (for the wipe) you copy a Wonder to the center so that there is a "starting" set of buildings that we pvp in and destroy / remake... who's wonder will be featured next??

I have a very complex solution in search of an undefined problem… Is it fun to time-gate access to the 'build together'/PvP area? Like, open it up only one or two hours per day and shift the window(s) by an hour each day? So imagine today you can only go to the area between 15.00 and 16.00, and tomorrow it would be 16.00 to 17.00? And maybe an equal time slot, but in the morning/night, like 03.00–04.00 to cater to multiple time zones. It would concentrate activity for all players so you might actually meet other players in the lobby. You'd also be able to 'defend' your stuff because you know when someone else would be able to visit. And it makes the zone a bit more special and exclusive in character. We're never going to fix all the structural problems that this idea has, so does it seem fun as proposed?
