I've got a problem, and I think it's a bug. When I plant a tree on a column block to make a nice pot, the tree shows itself small, as it should be, but only for like a split second, then it becomes gigant again. Does anybody have the same problem?? PD: Sorry if I misspelled something, english is not my mother language.

You can use your axe (as a builder) to chop at the tree. Every chop will make the tree smaller.

Not sure if it's bug or not but i had that happen too when i planted tree. The size was at first small before it appeared in full size, BUT indeed using an axe on builder class you can chop the tree down to right size for you.

This behavior is fully intended for the time being. You place the tree and the game says: "OK, here's a small tree to start out.". Then you see the beginning of the tree being placed. In the background, the tree grows until its maximum size (given blocks above it). After that, the game says: "OK, your tree is actually *this* high." and the game renders it out in the correct size. The one-two step process could be polished a bit, but the functionality is how I want it to be: placing trees makes them fill the available space and you can always cut them smaller using the axe. This way you only need one tool to make big and small trees.

I have found a solution to the problem, besides chopping it, place a block a few spaces taller (the size you want the tree to be) then place the tree, then remove the block it worked for me.

Yep, that's the intended workflow for creating small trees without having to chop them down after placing.
