I am posting this here for anyone who would like to see this idea implemented into the game, so that they can comment. "Colored Block" refers to Firefly's new block idea, referenced in this latest livestream: https://youtu.be/a_tBket7dHA?t=6826 My thoughts on "Colored Block", I love the idea. The other block building game I play has a similar feature and it adds so much more to a build, that you can design. Colored lights I have wanted for a long time, as I'm always looking to build a perfect traffic light system, or a disco, band stage, etc, etc. I vote YES for an update.

I love the idea of the colored block, too. It would be perfect for some details in my current and future buildings. So a big Yes from me i would love to have it ingame. :)

Appreciate the positivity! I'm working around the clock to make this block great. There are still many rough edges I need to smooth out, but the recent demo was pretty cool already! I'd also ask to manage your expectations a bit, because there will be some non-obvious limitations here. Regardless I'm doing my best to make it very 'Angeldust' and a bit 'more' than you expect. Colored lights are great for that already :D

I have something cool for you all to test: https://angeldu.st/static/webgl-coloredblock This WebGL version lets you use the 'Build alone' mode with basically all blocks and objects available in Angeldust. It adds the colored block to play around with. Go nuts, see if you can find bugs and hidden features with it! I appreciate realistic build attempts and screenshots of them. A hint of the new /cs command might be nice to understand how many blocks you used. Do note that due to the ephemeral nature of this WebGL testing version your work might be gone without a trace later so don't invest too much time and energy in building. For online play it adds new emoji, better emoji looks (go look at the carts in Port Perry and look at the :wheel:s), more text colors, wiggling text and even rainbow text. Let me know what you think of these! It's best not to try and buy the colored block online as it doesn't work, and some of the newer features will also be slightly buggy when playing online, because they require a newer server version. We'll test things bit by bit. I'm looking for feedback and bugs on the colored block in standalone mode, and on the new pink color and emoji. Have fun! AND REMEMBER THAT NONE OF THIS MIGHT MAKE IT TO THE FINAL VERSION OF THE GAME! --- And here is also a detailed change log so you know what to look for: GENERAL - Added a pink hue to the game palette. - Added ^p, ^q and ^r text hints for pink colors. - Added ^s and ^t text hints for rainbows. - Added ^! text hint for wiggling text. - Added /cs 'count slices' command to calculate total and non-natural-smooth cell delta counts per chunk slice. - Optimized on-disk chunk file format to reduce disk usage. - Greatly speed up replay and screenshot file counting. - Fixed wooden frame decals (stickers) affecting underlying material colors. - Speed up game world lighting calculation a bit. EMOJI - Updated for full Unicode 17.0 support. - Added new emoji like chess pieces and a hairy creature. - Added :colored_block:, :tailored_panel: and :text_sign: emoji. - Removed white backgrounds from many emoji to improve their aesthetics on text signs. - Recolored pink emoji colors with the new pink hue. - Merged a few half-hour clocks with their full-hour counterparts. COLORED BLOCK - Block picker shows colored block contents and calculates availability based on them, it is slightly buggy. - Colored block placement triggers the sound of its contents. - Colored block removal triggers the sound of its contents and the clumps will have the correct color. - After placing a colored block, the game remembers your contents so you can place multiple instantly. - In-hand block and object models for the colored block are colored correctly. - Movement sounds for colored blocks are now based on their contents. - Many natural blocks and objects are now available as colored block contents. - Shop shows which blocks can be recolored using a small badge. - Lantern sticker is now fully colored. - Removed red color cast from white and gray lights. - Darkest colored block color disables lights. - Smooth colored blocks form color gradients with natural game world blocks and colored blocks with identical contents like cloth, plaster and treasure. - World map and minimap now show colored blocks. - Made colored water more opaque so its color shows through better. - Fixed colored water physical height not rendering correctly. - Mimics now copy colored block contents and light sources. - Barriers above colored blocks increase object size. HOTBAR - Hotbar assignment now remembers all block properties including colored block configuration and object height. - Hotbar shows small colored block and object height overlays, animating when hiding. - (As a reminder: double click or double tap a hotbar slot in the inventory view to go into assignment mode.)

I have been building to test it, and so far so good, the colored block is so versatile to use. Just a note to everyone testing, the build is no longer there when you sign in...so please do a screen shot if you want to keep the build image. Also the trees/ plants (oak trees) are at a very small height, and mushroom are huge, I guess intentional? Will it be like this if it gets released? The choice of colors make the builds really stand out.Everyone should watch the stream #584 for the live demo. reference of a build using the test site, I used as much color combo and blocks and it seems like it works really well. https://imgur.com/2453slu https://imgur.com/A00BcrS https://imgur.com/BVoHytz This is already gone, so remember to capture a screen if you wanna keep it. ~Meow

Yo @SodaMeow you can make trees taller when using the colored block by placing a Barrier block over it.
