Angeldust v4.5 Beta for Windows, macOS and Linux is now available on Itch.io: https://metagaming.itch.io/angeldust This update brings all gameplay and visual improvements like the number bubbles from Angeldust v3.15 to the Beta line. I spent TONS of time and effort improving the real-time shadowing algorithm. Shadows for both the game world and sprites are now way more accurate, with practically all holes fixed. Even small details like ridges from full blocks next to tables now cast perfect shadows. It's lovely to see. Flickering is also reduced a lot. On top of that, I tweaked the entire lighting and shading to be 'better'. Angeldust v4.5 Beta has a more refined look to it, with softer shading, while still retaining visual likeness to Angeldust v3.15. Let me know what you think. More changes: – replaced 2D user interface icon outlines with drop shadows (nice!) – thickened 3D user interface lines to visually match Angeldust v3.x – implemented dynamic lighting for panel blocks – implemented dynamic lighting for weather particles – optimized shadow rendering to reduce GPU overdraw and fragment processing – improved shadow coverage and consistency between shadow quality levels I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and feedback on this new version!
