Rob... What is offensive about Christianity? Is it where Jesus Christ said,"Love your neighbor as yourself"? Or, where He said,"Love your enemies"? The message of the cross is far different from the message of the German cross, or swastika. People claimed, Hitler was a Christian, but his actions shows the opposite was true. He replaced the Bibles with Mein Kampf in schools, and replaced the church crosses w/ swastikas. Even Hitler knew that Christianity was contraire to his agenda. If people have a problem with Christianity, it's not because it's bad for society.

Globetrotter you are completely wrong, not only do I NOT find Christianity offensive, I said others might do. But also look up the origins of the swastika. It started out as a letter in the Celtic alphabet and a Runic symbol meaning (defense/protection).

It doesn't matter what the swastika originally meant. It's a symbol of hate, now. Why bring up Christianity at all? People have no good reason to hate it, but there are plenty of good reasons to hate what 20th century dictators did to people. Bringing Christianity into the conversation is like comparing it with a brutal dictatorship... like comparing apples and celery.

I once heard the phrase: "never discuss religion, politics and [something else]." I forgot what the third thing was. I think it's because there's no objective "right" and a conversation devolves quickly when there's no common ground to be found. On these subjects people are sometimes heavily invested and very passionate. Religion was already hot this week as I had to put "Bout de chou" on the bench for being a bit overzealous on that front. Maybe politics is the next frontier of discussion in Angeldust. It's good that we bump into this, so I can draft a bit of a guideline. I've thought about it a lot yesterday and came to the conclusion that I'm just not that invested in real world history and political issues, and I certainly don't want to drag these into Angeldust. A discussion on what is objectively "good", "bad" and "evil" is not something anyone (including me) is ever going to win as the spectra of opinions, ethics and subjectivity all make for fuzzy fundamentals. "So, Firefly, what now?" you ask. Good question… Though I respect everyone's issues with the Russian man/men, I'm afraid I currently don't fully share the concerns. Independent of that however, I find the depiction of real life people in a [potential] wonder problematic as there's a lot of emotion and context attached to any real life person. This thread serves as evidence to that. I'm also unsure about portrait rights and copyright on iconography. I've yet to visit @Mister_Master's build, so I can't really say anything about the size and scope of the Russian men within the full build. If the build relies too heavily on the depiction of these real-life people to be a wonder, I'll probably feed that back to Mister_Master. I agree with @ColtsWalker (and others) that Angeldust should be a place to get away from the real world. As for heated, (historical) political discussion: there seems to be no way for anyone to win such a discussion and it doesn't fit with the relaxed, cooperative nature of Angeldust. Call me naive, but I'd like for everyone to share a nice, cozy universe. That's why I started the game in the first place.

For transparency's sake: I just now visited @Mister_Master's build. There's a lot of nice architecture surrounding the main 'pixel art' hall. I feel this build can be an enjoyable wonder without it relying too much on the depiction of the Russian men in question. Right now I think the build is a bit unbalanced in detailing and construction so I asked Mister_Master to try and flesh it out a bit more on the underdeveloped sides.

Hello friends, I quietly set up the buildings on my miracle, of all kinds of beauty, many ethnic motives, now it can be realized and proudly called -> Miracle. I have a lot of unfinished projects, but most of the plan is implemented. Here are some things to see: I. Temple. https://prnt.sc/12qc9n8 I took the temple Savior on Spilled Blood from St. Petersburg as a basis, but it looks more like St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow (will be completed) Around it there are 4 pavilions, each embodying not so much a conservative religion or people as a general impression of 4 sides of the game world, the biomes of the game. Ready 3 of 4. 1. https://prnt.sc/12qcfpc 2. https://prnt.sc/12qcgsy 3. https://prnt.sc/12qcii6 4. - II. Temple in the skala Here I tried to portray images from Hinduism. 1. https://prnt.sc/12qckdv 2. https://prnt.sc/12qcl61 3. https://prnt.sc/12qcm5c 4. https://prnt.sc/12qcni3 There will be at least two more structures at the top. III. Admiralty https://prnt.sc/12qcps1 The interior inside the building will be complemented. IV. Brick chambers in Russian style. https://prnt.sc/12qcr4b The Russian style is rather conditional here. V. Meeting room. https://prnt.sc/12qce62 For this construction, I was inspired by the Divan-i-Has. A personal meeting room from the Indian ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri, erected by the Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great. Vi. Court and library. https://prnt.sc/12qcu64 The buildings on the right and left are used for public purposes. Vii. Baths. https://prnt.sc/12qcvp3 VIII. Aqueduct. https://prnt.sc/12qcwqq These are all notable buildings worth noting.

Firefly I Slowpok :3) just now noticed you wrote to me in the mail 9 months ago. There is nothing offensive in the lettering if it worries you. You can make sure yourself, using a text translator from an image https://translate.yandex.ru/ocr (I constantly use it when I receive foreign goods without Russian and English texts). Here is a diagram of the Palace of Culture https://prnt.sc/12qew8m on the attached picture you can still see the inscription in Latin слава труду = respect for work дворец культуры = Palace of Culture cccp = the USSR воля мира = will of the world власть народа = people's power верны идее = They are true to the idea Ленин Сталин = Lenin Stalin наше дело = our public interest верное - коммуна = reliable community These are not even some existing slogans, but expressing my opinion on the correct principles of the community. I think my building can be officially recognized as a Miracle.

@Mister_Master: thanks for reviving the topic. Last time we discussed your build I remember my main problem was with the somewhat empty surroundings. Going by your writing and screenshots it seems you worked on this point. Please send me the in-world coordinates again in a private message. It might seem superfluous, but it's just part of my process.
