Oh I was about to ask if Firefly changed the hero speeds again because I noticed that my steps seemed bigger, I always keep a backup of Angeldust when it updates just to see the difference between the game versions and so I did a test between the updated version on the old version and the steps are different. Comparision video https://imgur.com/a/side-step-old-vs-new-game-N3Vg9Mi for the test I only did a quick taped on the arrow keys to move.

I've always wished for a modkey (alt?) such that if the modkey was active when a move key was pressed, the movement was a faction of a normal step.

@Moniq, @Loki The Witful: Thanks for pointing out the issue and providing a video. I can confirm that it's caused by a tweak I did to make side-strafing more predictable. I did not see this new bug of being unable to make single, small steps. The current behavior is entirely unintentional and is going to be fixed. I understand how annoying this must be, but I can't roll out a fix quickly (except for the WebGL version). I hope the placeable flowers and plants are cool enough to tolerate the annoyance for a while. It does make me think of fundamentally rewriting the movement code in Angeldust. As @Hummm hints at; having finer and more interactive movement would be great. It wouldn't even require new keys; shorter periods of pressing a movement key would imply a shorter step. Give me some time to cook up a proof of concept. It might just be one of the best things to happen to the game's overall feel, just like the faster movement. In the meantime I'll try to roll out an updated WebGL version soon with the old movement code, so you can use that as a short-term fix.

An immediate workaround for the move bug might be available right now by sitting, since move speed is really slow while sitting, but that definitely wont work for me, since in my use case I'm mounted on a dragon, and trying to navigate a precise landing on a tree top. ('nough said)

Thanks to all the lovely people on the livestream yesterday I added @ritpop to the credits page because their paintings are now available in the game. Feedback on any problems introduced in the latest update remains welcome so I can polish everything.
